This plant species has its origins in India, Malaysia, and Indonesia, where it grows in tropical rainforests. Today, the Ficus elastica 'Abidjan' is cultivated worldwide as a houseplant.
The Ficus elastica 'Abidjan' has large, glossy leaves that boast a rich, dark red to almost black color. This color gives the plant a unique, striking appearance. Under the right conditions, this type of rubber tree can grow to a height of two to three meters. The Ficus elastica 'Abidjan' develops into a strong and robust plant that can grow quickly.
