Dracaena marginata, also known as the dragon tree, originates from Madagascar and other islands in the Indian Ocean. Its presence has also been noted in various tropical and subtropical regions of the world, mainly due to its popularity as a houseplant.
Dracaena marginata is an evergreen shrub known for its characteristically long, thin stems with scissor-shaped leaves. The leaves typically have a rich green color, surrounded by thin red edges, which contributes to its refined appearance. Under ideal conditions, the plant can grow up to 5 meters tall, although it usually remains smaller indoors.
Caring for Dracaena marginata includes providing indirect light and limiting water. Although it can tolerate some drought, it is important not to overwater the plant. Under normal living room conditions, the plant should be watered approximately every two weeks. The ideal temperature for this plant is between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius.
