The Croton (Codiaeum) variegatum 'Petra' belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae and originates from the tropics of Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia and Malaysia. This plant has been introduced to various parts of the world, including the Caribbean and Latin America, where it is grown for its attractive leaves.
Croton variegatum 'Petra' is a colorful shrub with leathery leaves that stand out due to their vibrant colors and versatile patterns. Each leaf is unique with variations of yellow, red, orange, and even purple. The plant can reach a maximum height of 90-110 centimeters depending on environmental conditions.
Croton variegatum 'Petra' requires well-drained soil and a location in partial shade to full sun, protected from wind. The plant needs regular water, but make sure the soil does not remain too wet to avoid root rot. A consistent temperature and high humidity are also important factors to promote healthy growth. It is also recommended to fertilize the plant monthly with a universal plant fertilizer to maintain the plant's colorful leaves.

This planter is made from Fiberclay, a mixture of fiberglass and clay that gives it the look of stone but is significantly lighter. Suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, the planter has several functional properties.
Thanks to its frost resistance, the planter can remain outdoors even during cold periods without damage. UV resistance ensures that the planter is protected against ultraviolet rays, providing protection against discoloration and damage from sunlight. In addition, the planter is fire-retardant, making it a safe choice for indoor applications. There is a drainage hole in the bottom to efficiently drain excess water.
