The Croton (Codiaeum) variegatum 'Petra' belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae and originates from the tropics of Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia and Malaysia. This plant has been introduced to various parts of the world, including the Caribbean and Latin America, where it is cultivated for its attractive leaves.
The Croton variegatum 'Petra' is a colorful shrub with leathery leaves that stand out due to their vibrant colors and versatile patterns. Each leaf is unique with variations of yellow, red, orange, and even purple. The plant can reach a maximum height of 90-110 centimeters depending on environmental conditions.
The Croton variegatum 'Petra' requires well-drained soil and a location in partial shade to full sun, protected from wind. The plant needs regular water, but make sure the soil does not stay too wet to avoid root rot. Consistent temperature and high humidity are also important factors to promote healthy growth. The Baq planter from the Raindrop collection is characterized by a special structure that makes it look as if raindrops are flowing down the pot. This planter is made from Fiberclay, a mixture of fiberglass and clay. This gives the pot the appearance of stone, but it is much lighter. The structure of the planter is comparable to concrete, which contributes to a robust and modern appearance.
The planter is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Thanks to its frost-resistant properties, the pot can remain outdoors during cold periods without being damaged. In addition, the planter is UV-resistant, which protects it from discoloration and damage from sunlight. The fire-retardant effect of the material also makes the planter a safe choice for indoor applications. For optimal water drainage, a drainage hole has been placed at the bottom of the planter.
