This plant has been introduced to various parts of the world, including the Caribbean and Latin America, where it is cultivated for its attractive leaves.
The Croton variegatum 'Petra' is a colorful shrub with leathery leaves that stand out due to their vibrant colors and diverse patterns. Each leaf is unique with variations of yellow, red, orange, and even purple. The plant can reach a maximum height of 90-110 centimeters depending on environmental conditions.
The Croton variegatum 'Petra' requires well-drained soil and a location in partial shade to full sun, protected from wind. The plant needs regular water, but ensure that the soil does not remain too wet to prevent root rot. A consistent temperature and high humidity are also important factors to promote healthy growth. The strong and heavy ceramic gives the planter a distinctive appearance and makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Thanks to its frost-resistant properties, the planter remains intact outdoors even during cold periods. Furthermore, the planter is equipped with a drainage hole in the bottom for draining excess water.
