Beaucarnea recurvata, also known as the Elephant's Foot or Ponytail Palm, is a plant species native to the arid regions of Mexico. The plant grows primarily in semi-desert-like areas and is adapted to a life with little water. Due to their longevity and resilience, these plants have been introduced to many areas around the world.
Beaucarnea recurvata is a succulent, meaning it can store water in its unique, thickened trunk, hence the nickname 'Elephant's Foot'. The plant has a striking appearance with long, drooping green leaves growing from the top of the trunk. This gives the plant the appearance of a small palm tree. Indoors, the plant can grow up to about two meters tall, but in its natural habitat, it can reach up to ten meters.
Beaucarnea recurvata is an easy-care plant suitable for beginners. It prefers bright light but can also survive in partial shade. The plant requires little water. In summer, watering it once every two weeks is sufficient, and in winter, only once a month. Too much water can lead to root rot. The plant thrives best at normal room temperature and dislikes cold drafts. It is also important not to repot the plant too often, as this can damage the roots.

The Baq. planter from the Dune collection has a beautiful surface texture reminiscent of the dynamic lines of wind-blown sand dunes. The ribbed structure enhances this appeal. The planter is made of fiberclay, a mix of fiberglass and clay, with the look of stone but many times lighter. The planter is suitable for outdoor and indoor use.
Thanks to its frost-resistant property, the planter can remain outdoors during cold periods without being damaged. The UV-resistant property offers protection against discoloration and damage from sunlight. The fire-retardant effect makes the planter a safe choice for indoor applications. With a drainage hole in the bottom, excess water is drained away.
