Activated charcoal is made from sustainably grown wood by carbonizing it in a kiln at a low temperature and then heating it to approx. 1000 degrees until the wood glows red. Finally, it is covered with a mixture of earth, sand, and ash. The result is a porous stick with many hollow spaces. The surface attracts contaminant ions and simultaneously releases minerals such as calcium, iron, and magnesium, which improve taste and are beneficial for health, into the water.

Using activated charcoal filters in their natural form is the most economical and environmentally friendly way to filter. Each activated charcoal filter has a lifespan of 6 months. Each piece is vacuum-packed in recyclable plastic and steam-cleaned for immediate use.
