PET plastic bottles are insensitive, waterproof, and durable. They are still produced in large quantities but are by no means recycled to the same extent. This is because their properties expand the range of uses for carpets made from recycled PET bottles many times over, compared to carpets made from natural materials such as cotton or virgin wool.

Moisture cannot harm them, so it doesn't matter if a glass tips over during a meal. Even when used on balconies and terraces, recycled PET carpets easily withstand rain. They are washable and, in case of heavy soiling, can be easily machine washed at up to 40 °C, and then dry again in a flash.

The feel is also convincing: Compared to cotton carpets, your feet will hardly notice a difference. The recycled PET carpets only appear to be woven a little more tightly and feel astonishingly soft.
