**Martindale is a method that determines the abrasion resistance and thus the durability of fabrics. The Martindale method simulates the daily wear and tear of covers, especially seat covers and upholstery fabrics. This determines an abrasion number that indicates when the fabric starts to wear out. For private use, between 10,000 - 15,000 Martindale cycles are considered appropriate.
