Florence spent her twenties as a singer in the Far Eastern colonies and ran an etiquette school in Shanghai. In London, she reinvented herself and became "Madame Pellier," a French fashion designer who dressed the rich and famous. She then returned to Australia as an English aristocratic lady and worked as a landscape painter. At the age of 60, Florence changed her life again and founded her well-known company, which manufactured and distributed luxurious, hand-printed wallpapers.

Every place she had been and everything she had seen and experienced is reflected in her boundless creativity, through which Florence enjoyed worldwide recognition. Her spirit lives on through the numerous designs she left behind: from
