The activated carbon is made from sustainably grown wood by charring it in a kiln at a low temperature, then heating it to about 1000 degrees until the wood glows red. Finally, it is covered with a mixture of soil, sand and ash. The result is a porous rod with many cavities. The surface attracts ions of impurity while releasing minerals, such as calcium, iron and magnesium, which improve taste and are beneficial to health, into the water.
Using the activated carbon filter in its natural form is the most economical and environmentally friendly way of filtration. Each activated carbon filter has a life span of 6 months. Each piece is vacuum packed in recyclable plastic and steam cleaned for immediate use.
