Every line, curve, shape and form of the vase has been carefully thought through in relation to its primary inspiration, namely the Imperial Palace, also known as the Forbidden City or "Gugong"
The Forbidden City was the imperial residence and center of the empire during the reigns of 24 emperors, 14 in the Ming and 10 in the Qing Dynasty, who resided and ruled from this palace for 491 years until Puyi, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty and China, made it the largest and best preserved ancient structure in China. The key elements of the PUYI vase represent the aesthetics of the imperial palace
Roderick conducted extensive research and went to great depths to realize his creations. He went to the places that influence his designs. The PUYI vase is an exceptional product of an artist immersed in his craft.
